roots of karate

Roots of Karate reimagines the classic martial art as a nature-based resilience practice

Fascism feeds on fear, despair, and disconnection. It’s hard to know where to start to take action. We feel shut down, burned out, and hopeless. Overwhelmed and under-resourced.

Roots of Karate is a radical new approach to martial arts.

Taking inspiration from nature, we explore a karate of resilience through diversity, cooperation, and adaptation.

  • Shake off the despair and mobilize your body into healthy activation with cooperative self-protection drills

  • Learn martial arts strategy to identify and relate to conflict from a space of centered power and curiosity

  • Put down roots, sharing your voice in the circle and reflecting others to build solidarity and community

This is a trial run of this workshop. By joining, you’ll not only be part of something new — you’re also be helping me shape it for future participants.
